While I might treat the various parts separately and/or simultaneously, I always remember that they all intimately influence and are dependent on each other. I also want my patients to know that I am not against the proper use of medication and that I have a great respect for our allopathic medical doctors. The judicious use of medicine can be life saving, the abuse of medication can cause long term consequences that are not being recognized. Example: If someone came into my office with a massive infection, I would send them out immediately to their M.D. for antibiotics. When the emergency was over, I would want to see the patient to find out why their body had been overcome by a disease process and not been able to deal with the situation. I want to find and treat the core issues of a person's disease and not just mask symptoms with medications. Looking at people as a whole allows me a much greater opportunity for success.
